Proteales confront problems flexibly …

The Proteales consist of the Australian Macadamia, the Indian and American lotus, and the Sycamore family. All of these plants have developed protective strategies: against fire with fire-stimulated seed germination, against water pollution with the lotus effect, and against air pollution by being impervious to it. These plants remain flexible when facing problems, and their order consists of about 1,600 species.
