Liliales, between mania and purity ...

The Liliales plant order manifests extremes, from the purity of the lily to the deadly poison of the autumn crocus, and the economic bubble caused by the tulip mania. All plants in the order grow persistence organs such as bulbs, rhizomes and tubers, and differ from the Asparagales by their mostly linear leaves and a light-colored seed coat. The order has roughly 1,500 species.
