Malvales, plants for balance ...

Malvales

Many plants of the order come from the tropics and subtropics, and contain economically relevant plants that supply things like cotton, kapok and cocoa. Their often delicate flowers, like the mallow for example, stand in contrast to the rough fruit, and this contrast must be brought into balance. One example of how this manifests itself is the seed being packed in cotton…. It is a large order with 6,000 species, and is represented in Europe with the Tilia, the Daphne and the mallow.
