Zingiberales warm us with the substances in their numerous spice, medicinal and fruit plants. Nobody wants to live without bananas, ginger, cardamom and turmeric. The plants are at home in the humid tropics due to the fact that they require a high level of humidity, and only grow outdoors in the summer here. The order has roughly 2,000 species.
